Whew! It's been awhile.

Sorry I haven't written lately. D.C. is all better from his absess. Sean is still being a pest and likes to play with all the feed tubs in the morning. Since the last time I wrote, the horse show went well. I ended working as ring crew and stayed until the show was over. I had lots of fun doing but I still wished I got to work in the annoucer's stand.
Then about a week ago, I found a stray yellow lab on our road and took it in. I wasn't looking for another dog and my mom doesn't want another dog either. She is very pretty and looks to be about 1-2 years old. We thought someone might want her last week but no calls came. I can't really keep her since I have my own dog and this is my last year of 4-H so starting a new dog on my last year wouldn't make sense. I have put up a lot of signs about her and called nearly a 2 mile radius around my neighborhood but no one has seen a dog like this. Hopefully someone will call about her this week.
Well thats all for now,

The Last Few Days

D.C.'s abscess opened the other day (Yea!) and now I just got to soak it a couple more days and then wrap it until it heals. He has been good boy through this whole experience. He doesn't put up a fuss which I am glad of. Sean has been enjoying his time since he isn't getting worked because of D.C. and it snowed yesterday. There is a Game Show coming up on Saturday that I will be going to. I will just be watching or helping in the ring since D.C. is injured and Sean is not in shape to run games. The show is at Hi Circle Vee in Isanti and Bill, the owner, owned the father to Sean. I have been there a few times with Drill Team and helping out at shows. It is my favorite arena to work my horses since it is a heated indoor. I think I will have a great time. The last time I worked at that show, I was announcing and writing down the times for each event. I love helping out Bill because he has done so much for me and the Drill Team.
That's all for now,

Dark Canyon

Over the last view days, D.C. has been really listless meaning he hasn't wanted to do anything.
Finally I noticed he had started limping. Turns out after soaking his hind right foot, he has an absess forming on the balm of his hoof. So he isn't the happiest camper after I wrapped his hoof with hot pink vet-wrap. Hopefully the absess will open fast and end his pain quickly. Normally though that probably won't happen.

First Post

This is my first time having a blog but I hope to make the use of it to tell about my horses.

I have 2 horses: Dark Canyon (D.C.), who is a 27 year old Quarter Horse/ Throughbred gelding. He is my All-Around horse which I have used him in Pleasure, Games, Fun Shows, Drill Team, Costume classes and Trail Riding.
: Smart Like You (Sean), who is 5 year old AQHA gelding. He is the horse that I have been working on to become my next All-Around horse. I have taken him to 1 show where we got 4th in Halter Showmanship. I hoping for this next year of showing I can use him for Pleasure and Drill Team, maybe do Games for fun.
About Me: I started horse showing using a pony named Tex for 1 year. Then I moved up to D.C. who I have shown for 7 years and hope to continue as he is able. Now I have Sean who I have had for only 1 year but I hope to have many more years with him.
I am a member of Isanti County 4-H, Isanti County 4-H Horse Project, Dog Project and Isanti County
4-H Drill Team.
I love my horses and I plam to write what I am doing with them on this blog
